30 For 30 1.2

Yes, I know you've been eagerly waiting for the post-Mexico analysis. Who's in? Who's out? Well, let's take a look.

BOLD = new this month.

GK: Howard, Guzan, Rimando

D: Cameron, Gonzalez, Besler, Goodson, Beasley, Parkhurst, Evans, Brooks, YEDLIN, Ream, F. Johnson

MF: Bradley, Diskerud, Zusi, Bedoya, Davis, Corona, Jones, Williams, Beckerman

F: Johannsson, Dempsey, Donovan, Altidore, Wondolowski, GREEN, AGUDELO

Keep in mind this is a prediction at the Preliminary Roster due next month. This is NOT my prediction of players making the plane to Brazil.

A few notes:

- Having now made the switch official, there has to be a carrot dangling here from Jurgen for Julian Green, and I think it's a trip to Brazil. Whether or not that's actually the case, well, we'll find out. Regardless, he's going to be at camp next month. Here's hoping he can get time in the Bundesliga now that Bayern have the title wrapped up, if only to squash the ridiculousness that continues to dismiss him as a legitimate player because he hasn't played a match in the league yet.

- Castillo, Eddie Johnson, and Sacha Kljestan all dropped out this month due to a combination of not impressing with their club and with the USMNT. In their stead comes Yedlin, Green, and Agudelo. I'd rather have extra options in attack than defense.

- Brad Davis continues to stay on my roster because A) he did nothing to get off it in the last month and B) his left foot is an asset. He's also handy on set pieces. Still not convinced about Brazil though...

- Agudelo just lost his starting spot to Jacob Mulenga at Utrecht this week. Until that point, Agudelo had started almost every game since coming to the club and doing quite well. I don't think he's off the chopping block yet and if he can regain his starting spot, he will really make a case for himself heading into the summer.

- You may be wondering where Edu is. Despite playing regularly with the Union now and receiving a call up this month, I wasn't sold. His cameo was too small and, honestly, lacked conviction. He could sneak on next month. His stock is rising...

  1. Boyd's been banging in some goals recently. What're your thoughts on what it would take for him to overtake say Agudelo?

    I also see Brek Shea making the 30 not because he's earned it but because JK loves speaking about Shea. I think (right or wrong) he'd make the 30 over Corona.

  2. I think Shea is now severely on the outs and it will be either Corona or Green that replaces him. I'd say his odds are about 1%. As for Boyd, after his two goal weekend, he's quickly gaining ground on Eddie Johnson who continues to struggle for DC United.
